Sixty Years On
This year’s (truly extraordinary) opening weekend marks 60 years since the final windowpanes were fitted and ILTIS was officially declared ready-for-action on the Queen’s Birthday weekend in 1962. It’s a credit to all members – past and present – that our club values and cosy communal atmosphere remain largely unchanged after six eventful decades. Long may it continue so! Watch this space for news of commemorative 60th anniversary hoodies and truckers caps.
Just a bit of snow
Just a bit of snow (over a metre!!) in the last week and the mountain is open again. Woop! The lodge is having to operate a little differently this year to ensure we comply with all DHHS guidelines for shared accommodation. Please make sure you read our 2021 Fact Sheet before coming up. Your sponsoring member will have a copy.
With the easing of restrictions announced in November and December, Iltis is now open again for members and guests. There’s no place quite like the Victorian High Country in summer – invigorating mountain air, thrilling bike rides and incomparable sunsets – so why not escape to the mountains? We’d love to have you! firstname.lastname@example.org
Iltis is committed to operating in a COVIDSafe way and has implemented various measures to protect all our guests, in keeping with current government regulations. If you have any queries or need any additional information before booking, please email: email@example.com.
Retro ILTIS merchandise
Thirty years after the initial release, the classic ILTIS windcheater is back! And not just windcheaters, but various hoodies and t-shirts too – in heaps of different colour combinations and a full range of sizes.
Special thanks to Laura Schnerring for making this happen, and for recreating Rainer’s iconic original artwork.
Always Big Days
Ride High Country is a fantastic new website, offering a one-stop shop for all things cycling in Victoria’s high country – covering rail trails, road riding and mountain biking. And here’s a little video from the site about our backyard.
In the words of the talent: “Every time you leave the village at Mt Buller … it’s an epic adventure. The trails are tough but rewarding. And there’s not many places in Australia where you get a 1000m descent, all the way to the valley floor. Always big days!
MTB season kicks-off today
Today marks the official beginning of the mountain bike season … and the start of the southern hemisphere’s only EPIC TRAIL is just a couple of hundred metres from our back door!
